Hong Kong Organic Resource Centre Certification Limited

The Hong Kong Organic Resource Centre Certification Limited is the first local independent certification body of organic production in Hong Kong. The Centre is providing organic certification service and actively promoting organic movement to public through mass publicity and educational campaigns. We are seeking passionate and energetic candidates who are interested in organic and agricultural development in Hong Kong to fill the following vacancies:

 

A. Organic Crop Inspector (Part time)                                                          

Our inspectors are responsible for conducting on-site inspections at farms applying for organic certification, in accordance with the “Organic Crop Production, Aquaculture, Processing and Input Manufacturing Standard” and the associated guidelines. They will provide a report on the inspection results.

The inspectors must meet the following requirements:
• Hold a diploma or higher qualification in agriculture, biology, environmental conservation, food management, food technology, or food science; or
• Have practical experience in crop cultivation, food processing, organic food trade, or related fields; or
• Hold a valid certificate from the International Organic Inspectors Association (IOIA) or an equivalent organic farm inspector training course; or
• Have completed the IOIA organic inspector training course provided by our center and passed the relevant examination; and
• Possess keen observation skills and the ability to conduct inspections in an honest and impartial manner.


Our center will also consider applicants who have attended the IOIA or equivalent organic farm training course.

Initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of one year. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.

Salary:

Inspectors will be paid HK$1,800 per on-site inspection, including the inspection report. The center will provide continuous training and internship opportunities.
